According to NFL Network Total Access host Rich Eisen, the Bengals have announced that Johnson's shoulder is sprained and the star wideout has been ruled out for the next pre-season game.

It remains to be seen if that's all he'll miss. ESPNews is suggesting a 1-3 week timetable. ... HC Marvin Lewis said the shoulder popped out and back into place on the field. Medical tests found no fracture. "I think he should be ready by the opener," Lewis said. "Some of these things come back right away, and they're ready to go. ..." Again, we'll continue to follow Johnson's progress closely in coming days; it won't be hard to figure out if the facts are bearing out Lewis' optimistic outlook.
