The Facts:
For the first time this off-season, the Packers and the agent for Grant have had substantive talks about a long-term contract, but as of right now Grant is holding firm that he won't report to training camp if an agreement isn't reached.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Grant's agent, Alan Herman, told the Journal Sentinel this afternoon that the two sides finally got down to business last Friday and have spoken almost every day since in an attempt to hammer out a contract. Herman didn't think the two sides were all that far apart, but there were some fundamental differences that were keeping the deal from getting done. Herman, however, remains optimistic that the two sides will reach an agreement before players are scheduled to report on Sunday. Because Grant is not under contract, he would not be subject to fines for missing camp. Players must be signed to a contract to take part in training camp.
