The Facts:
Simms may be on the verge of receiving his year-long wish for an escape from Tampa, the way we hear it. Reports recently surfaced that the Cowboys were interested in trading for Simms to make him a backup to Tony Romo. Sources tell PFW the Bears and Lions have shown interest in acquiring the fifth-year veteran, as well.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Although the Detroit News is downplaying any interest from the Lions, PFW went on to suggest there's a good chance Simms will be with another team around the time training camp begins. Simms skipped all of the Bucs' offseason workouts and has made it clear he's no longer interested in working with HC Jon Gruden. The Bucs are said to be after a first-day pick in the swap, but it's unlikely that a potential trade partner would be willing to give up a second-round pick for Simms. That said, it's increasingly clear that Simms won't be with the team much longer.
