Gruden Amazed At Cadillac Williams' Progress
(6/18 9:33 PT)

The Facts:
Williams is not allowed to practice until he is medically cleared, but HC Jon Gruden called his player's speedy comeback from last year's knee injury just short of a miracle. "It's one of the most amazing comebacks that I've seen," Gruden said. "He hasn't come back yet, but he is banging on the door. Our fans would be proud of him." Reported by the Tampa Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Williams, who spent Tuesday morning on a practice field with a trainer during the first day of mini-camp, suffered a career-threatening knee injury on Sept. 30, 2007, against Carolina, tearing his patellar tendon. Williams had surgery in October and has been rehabilitating since. While the coaching staff initially believed Williams would not play in 2008, prompting the re-signing of Michael Bennett and the acquisition of Warrick Dunn, his progress has many at team headquarters more optimistic about his chances of hitting field this season. We still recommend a cautious approach.
