Following up on a previous item. ... For the first time, Jurevicius disclosed that he had three surgeries in the off-season -- one to clean up an old knee injury and two to treat a staph infection. But he vowed, "I will be back, not only for the season opener, but for training camp."

Jurevicius, 33 and embarking on his 11th NFL season, had been rehabbing the knee inside the team's facility during voluntary practices and this week's mini-camp. And despite Thursday's report suggesting he wouldn't be ready for the regular-season opener, Jurevicius obviously believes otherwise. ... We'd still advise a wait-and-see approach.
