The disgruntled Baker vented for 16 minutes after practice, telling reporters the Jets lied to him about re-working his contract and predicting that he will not be a Jet this season.

Baker, who has two years remaining on a contract that pays him $1.65 million annually, emphasized that he wants to play for the Jets, but he doesn't see it happening in light of the team's refusal to revisit his contract situation. "Imagine if coach [Eric] Mangini was the third highest-paid coach on the staff. You think he'd be happy about that? You think he would allow that to happen? I mean, that's how I feel." Bubba Franks, signed to serve as a backup already makes more than Baker; first-round pick Dustin Keller undoubtedly will once he signs. ... Stay tuned.
