The Facts:
Oakland's selecting Darren McFadden all but sealed the fate of Jordan. HC Lane Kiffin was noncommittal when asked Thursday about Jordan's status. "LaMont does have a very high contract and a big (salary-cap) number coming into this," Kiffin said. "So, we have to look at what happens in the draft, look at what else is going on and make a decision."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
We now know what happened in the draft and it doesn't bode well for Jordan, who is due a base salary of $4.7million for the 2008 season. As Times staffer Steve Corkran suggests: "That's a hefty sum for a starting back; it's a pink slip in waiting for a player without a defined role. ..." Jordan was second in the league with 424 yards rushing through the first four games last season. An injury midway through the fourth game opened the door for Justin Fargas, who capitalized on the opportunity. As a result, Jordan, who carried 125 times in the first seven games, rushed only 19 times for 38 yards in the final nine games.
