Following up on a previous item. ... The Broncos reached an agreement Monday with former Chiefs receiver Parker on a one-year contract. Parker, 27, was to receive the minimum $605,000 salary, plus a $40,000 signing bonus.

With the Broncos, Parker will try to win the No. 4 or No. 5 receiver spot behind Brandon Marshall, Keary Colbert and Brandon Stokley. The Broncos are also trying to sign free-agent receiver Darrell Jackson. The Broncos also have holdovers Glenn Martinez, Taylor Jacobs and Edell Shepherd with NFL experience, so Parker will have to shine in the pre-season to win a job. ... For what it's worth, ESPN.com's Bill Williamson reports this morning that "those in the know" say the team's interest in adding Parker and Jackson (who is likely to compete with Colbert for the No. 2 spot) isn't due to concerns about
