McAllister will remain a Saint through at least training camp, according to a spokesperson for the tailback. McAllister, who was due a $1 million roster bonus by April 15, worked out an agreement with the team. Details were not available, but McAllister conveyed through the spokesperson that he is "a New Orleans Saint for sure this season" and he was relieved that things had been resolved.

According to NFL Network insider Adam Schefter, the new deal allows McAllister, who is recovering from
surgery to both knees, to earn the same money he would have under the terms of his previous deal -- as long as he recovers and performs as expected. The new contract provides the team some protection if that's not the case.
