After adding receivers Isaac Bruce and Bryant Johnson since the start of free agency on February 29, the 49ers have opted to trim from the roster Jackson, reports Adam Schefter of NFL Network.

Jackson was traded to San Fran in 2007 from the Seahawks for a fourth-round draft pick. Injuries and salary issues led to the trade, which seemed odd at the time. Perhaps Seattle realized the value of creating problems for a divisional rival. ... Jackson started 15 games for the Niners and caught 46 passes for 497 yards and three touchdowns. PFT's Mike Florio suggests the list of possible suitors for Jackson might include teams running West Coast offenses (Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Washington).
