The Facts:
Agents Ryan and Bruce Tollner have made progress on the new contract for Roethlisberger, who has two years left on his first deal from 2004.
Reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The agents will meet in Pittsburgh today with Steelers officials to try to nail down a contract extension. Both Roethlisberger and the Steelers have expressed a desire to have a new contract in place as soon as possible. In fact, getting a contract extension and getting one quickly was one of three wishes Roethlisberger said he had for the offseason during a Jan. 15 interview. His other two desires were to keep guard Alan Faneca from leaving as a free agent and to find a tall wide receiver.
Faneca is gone, but the Boston Herald includes Pittsburgh on their
theoretical list of desintations Randy Moss might find acceptable (don't get too excited Steeler fans; "theoretical" would be the key word here).
