Eagles QBs coach Bill Musgrave landed a plumb job as Foles' tutor. What has Musgrave particularly excited is Foles' progress in the pre-snap phase of offseason practices. "We know he's a gifted athlete. He can throw the ball exactly where he wants to," Musgrave explained. "He can add air, add touch. He can add velocity and really drive it when it's needed. But to see the way that he can visualize formations, coverages, and process what he sees has been impressive."

As NFL.com reminded readers, Foles is a smart, highly accurate quarterback. That said, it's easy to argue that last season's NFL record-breaking 27:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio was a product of Chip Kelly's innovative offense and the surrounding talent. The fact that Musgrave already has noticed Foles' ability to make the kind of pre-snap diagnoses that veterans Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Philip Rivers have mastered is obviously a positive. Another positive would be Foles' understanding the pressure will increase for him this season. "Windows will get tighter, defenses will try to bring stuff that'll stop you," Foles acknowledged. "They have more on you, they know your tendencies so that's why we have to keep working." There won't be any shortage of fantasy football owners willing to bet an early pick that he can continue to get the job done.
