Chris Johnson Still Thinks He Can Rush For 2,000 Yards; You Shouldn't
(6/21 11:35 PT)

The Facts:
The new Jets running back who earned the CJ2K moniker with 2,006 rushing yards and 2,509 total yards for Tennessee in 2009, said he still thinks he could hit that plateau again. "I’d just retire and not play anymore if I didn’t feel like I was still capable of being a 2,000-yard back,” Johnson told the Daily News on Tuesday. “I know I have the ability.” Reported by the New York Daily News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Johnson, 28, signed with the Jets this offseason and should work in tandem with Chris Ivory. He’s coming off a knee injury and has yet to participate in team drills. Remember, Johnson’s production steadily decreased since that incredible breakout in 2009, although he has managed more than 1,000 yards each of the last four years. Last season in Tennessee, he averaged 3.9 yards per carry compared to 5.6 from his amazing 2009 season. Still, Johnson claims he’s the same CJ2K. “I don’t feel like I’m getting older or I lost a step. I still feel good. I still feel explosive,” he said. “I just know the type of player I am, I’d never sell myself short. ..." Based on his current ADP (23 among all running backs0, fantasy football owners are doing the selling short for him.
