The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... Sources tell us the Cardinals want to sign Manning. They would eradicate Kevin Kolb from the roster. John Skelton, a QB whom Ken Whisenhunt likes a lot and won with in the second half last year, would be the backup and insurance in case Manning got hurt.

FOXSports.com columnist and SiriusXM NFL Radio host Adam Schein, citing multiple sources, went on to note that Manning has put out feelers about the Cardinals. He is very intrigued by playing with Larry Fitzgerald and bringing Reggie Wayne along as his wingman (something Wayne
would be fine with). Schein added, "Make no mistake; part of the Cardinals' plan would be to sign Wayne if they brought Manning on board. It has been discussed at length internally. ..." Schein Manning is said to respect and like Whisenhunt and has reached out via intermediaries to learn more about him. Sources tell Schein that Manning also likes Arizona's young, talented defense (and
they seem to like him). Bottom line? According to Schein, "There is legit mutual interest in a Manning-Cardinals marriage. Arizona will be in play. ..." As we mentioned in
the previous item, there will be no shortage of conflicting reports about Manning's destination. This would be a prime example (Arizona wasn't one of the three teams that CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman was told the QB had narrowed the field to). ... So again. Stay tuned. There will be more. And more. And then some more.
