According to Liz Mullen of the Sports Business Journal, the Patriots have approached Ochocinco about restructuring his contract.

This falls in line with a report by Boston Globe staffer Greg Bedard, who advised readers earlier this week that Ochocinco could be back under a restructured contract, then subject to a release. Bedard added, however, the more people he talks to about Ochocinco, the more convinced he is that it’s never going to work for the former Bengal in this offense. It just seems like he’ll never get it. The team and players loved having him around. He was a terrific teammate, just not even close to being effective. Hard to argue that point.
