The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... It's that time of year when a lot gets thrown against the wall to see if it'll stick. For instance, at the Super Bowl, I heard some media people talking about Manning possibly coming to the Texans. I told them no way that would happen. And it won't for several reasons.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
So wrote long-time Chronicle staffer John McClain, who went on to outline his reasons: "Teams don't know if he'll play again. The Texans have Matt Schaub, whose rehab from foot surgery is ahead of schedule. Schaub works out almost every day. T.J. Yates is the backup. Matt Leinart is third. ..." McClain went on to note that Houston's offense isn't well-suited to Manning. He doesn't roll out and throw the boot. He's a pocket passer. Manning will go to a team that plays the same offense and is willing for him to basically run it because that's what he did so well with the Colts until his three neck operations. ... So, McClain summed up: "Forget about Manning coming to the Texans. It's not going to happen."
