Rob Gronkowski's Recovery Time About 10 Weeks
(2/11 12:19 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... Gronkowski, whose effectiveness in Super Bowl XLVI was limited (two catches, 26 yards) by a high left ankle sprain suffered two weeks before in the AFC Championship game, yesterday underwent arthroscopic surgery. A team source said Gronkowski had multiple torn ligaments, and was operated on by Dr. George Theodore. The recovery time is expected to be around 10 weeks. Reported by the Boston Globe

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Gronkowski was injured late in the Patriots’ win over Baltimore when he was tackled after a catch by Ravens safety Bernard Pollard. In just his second season, Gronkowski set NFL records for a tight end for touchdowns (18) and receiving yards (1,327). ... The good news here is the 10-week timetable will have Gronkowski back well before off-season work begins in earnest. We'll be watching for more in the interim, but assume the start TE will be ready to pick up where he left off when training camp opens this summer.
