The Facts:
Brian Schottenheimer is interviewing today with Nick Saban about the offensive coordinator job at Alabama. But it looks like Schottenheimer will have another job opportunity — in St. Louis. Multiple league sources told the Post-Dispatch on Saturday that Jeff Fisher is interested in hiring Schottenheimer as his offensive coordinator with the Rams.

Fisher
informed the Rams on Friday he wanted to coach in St. Louis; contract details between Fisher and the Rams still must be finalized, but that's expected to happen no later than Sunday evening. In the meantime, Fisher has been given the green light by the Rams to "officially" talk to potential members of his coaching staff. Fisher has been informally working on his staff over the past week or so as he contemplated whether to coach for St. Louis or Miami. Schottenheimer, 38, and the New York Jets had a mutual parting of the ways earlier in the week after a season in which the Jets finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs, and their offense finished 25th in the league.
