an ongoing story. ...Owner Woody Johnson addressed several issues about team chemistry and unity that have surfaced in recent days. Johnson responded to a Daily News report that cited several players and members of the organization making critical comments about Sanchez. He disagreed with one player's characterization that Sanchez was "lazy" on the practice field because he knew that he was never going to be benched. "I've never heard that," Johnson said on Thursday.

"New Yorkers don't like losers," said Johnson. "Even if it's an 8-8 record, that's not good enough. ..." Johnson believes that HC Rex Ryan realizes that he made a mistake waiting so long before putting his finger on the pulse on the locker room dissension. Ryan admitted after the season that he truly never had a handle on the discord until he met with players after they missed the playoffs for the first time in his three years at the helm.
