The Facts:
The season for rumors has started and one of those making the rounds is that Peyton Manning could end up being a Jet.

There's very little fact to substantiate that this has in any way been addressed by either team and Rex Ryan strongly denies this while restating his faith in Mark Sanchez, but there's certainly circumstantial evidence to support that this would make sense, especially if the Colts end the year with the overall No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft.
First, there has been talk that the Jets are not pleased with the progress of Sanchez at quarterback. His yards per attempt, a solid stat to identify success, have declined every year in the NFL. Second, the Colts would likely take Andrew Luck if they owned the first pick in the draft and his pedigree strongly suggests he can start as a rookie. Third, Manning would likely yield a substantial bounty if dealt which would allow the Colts to rebuild around Luck. Finally, the Jets have Tom Moore on staff who coached Manning for many years in Indianapolis to ease the transition and perhaps even to take over as offensive coordinator.
We'd suggest it's a long offseason on the horizon and we'll hear plenty more rumors, half-truths and outright lies as it plays out.
