Acee paints a scenario where if Chargers owner Dean Spanos fires both head coach Norv Turner (likely) and general manager A.J. Smith (very possible), the Rams would hire Smith as their GM and he, in turn, would hire Gruden as his head coach. Smith and Gruden have a very strong relationship. Those wishing to follow the cascade effect further would see current Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo end up in Philadelphia as their defensive coordinator, a job he excelled in with the Giants.
