According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Miami Dolphins have fired Sparano. DC Todd Bowles has been named their interim HC.

Much like Todd Haley's firing by the Chiefs earlier today, the fact Sparano got fired comes as no real surprised. The timing, however, seems a bit odd. ... But whatever the case, what appeared to be an inevitable move has now taken place. As Profootballtalk.com noted, Sparano’s firing has been expected since early this season, when Miami got off to an 0-7 start. Although the Dolphins started to turn things around in the middle of the year, and there was some sentiment that perhaps Sparano could save his job, any thought that he might stick around went away when the Dolphins lost to the Eagles on Sunday.
