An MRI on Forte's knee today confirmed he suffered a grade 2 MCL sprain, with no damage to his ACL according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune notes that Forte has played through a significant knee injury before. Forte sprained the MCL in his left knee during Week 3 in 2009 and never missed a game. He had arthroscopic surgery on that knee in January 2010. Of course, he wasn't upset over the Bears failure to reward him with a new contract in 2009 like he is now. Don't look for the star tailback to rush back. ... Meanwhile, Marion Barber moves into the starting lineup.
