The Lions have opted to bring back Kevin Smith to help out the team's disappointing running game.

With Jahvid Best not ready to return to the field, the Lions opted to sign Smith whom they drafted in 2008 and released after the 2010 season. Smith had remained unsigned until now. The Lions also signed offensive guard Leonard Davis to help clear a path for their ground game.
