Down by 29 points in the fourth quarter to the Bears, Ponder was sent in to get some NFL experience.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
While the Vikings are 1-4 and well on their way to 1-5, Ponder was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft and is, at least at this time, the team's quarterback of the future. While it's possible this could be a permanent change, it will take a good performance by Ponder for that to happen for two reasons. First, McNabb was not playing that poorly in this game and second, Ponder looked nowhere near ready to play in the NFL in preseason.
