Mark Sanchez Could Play Against Bills
(12/27 11:46 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... On second thought, Sanchez may play Sunday, after all. HC Rex Ryan, backtracking on what he said after the 38-34 loss Sunday to the Bears, said Monday that he's open to the idea of starting his sore-shouldered QB against the Buffalo Bills in the final regular-season game. Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As soon as he learned the Jets had clinched a playoff spot, Ryan strongly indicated that his plan was to rest Sanchez, who said after the game his right shoulder was "pretty sore." But after sleeping on it, Ryan expressed concern about sitting Sanchez, saying he doesn't want to disrupt his two-game hot streak. The answer might be playing Sanchez for a short time against the Bills. Sanchez has minor cartilage damage in his shoulder, sources said, which showed up on an MRI exam that was taken after he took a hit to the shoulder in last week's win at Pittsbugh.
