As PFT noted, Mike Singletary will get another game as 49ers HC but his tenure as the team's leader essentially ended today -- along with the 49ers’ playoff chances. The Rams won 25-17 in a game highlighted by Singletary and his starting QB screaming at each other on the sideline. Two series later, Singletary pulled Troy Smith for Alex Smith in a one possession game midway through the fourth quarter with a division title basically on the line. Alex Smith provided some spark, but the 49ers still fell short. We suspect that's how Singeltary's run in San Francisco will be judged when all is said and done.
