Houshmandzadeh has $7 million in his back pocket courtesy of his guaranteed salary from the Seahawks. He's probably not going to be sitting out for too long, though. His decision on where to play next season appears to be narrowing down to either Oakland or Washington, according to a source who had spoken with him.

Houshmandzadeh, 32, led Seattle in receptions last season, but was released by Seattle on Saturday. As Times staffer Danny O'Neil notes, the veteran wideout's 2010 salary of $7 million is guaranteed, but there is certainly an offset clause, which would mean that Seattle is responsible only for the difference of the $7 million total and whatever he would earn from another team in 2010. Most expect him to sign for the veteran minimum in 2010 with another team. ... Stay tuned.
