(8/3 9:52 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on today's big story. ... According to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, HC Brad Childress discussed the Favre situation at his press conference after the Vikings morning practice. Childress said he has not been told by Favre that he is not coming back. He has talked to Favre in the last 24 hours.  Reported by the Red Zone

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
In case you missed it, Zulgad first reported this morning that Favre began telling Vikings officials last night he will not return for a 20th season -- apparently because his surgically repaired ankle isn't responding as well as hoped. Favre has also reportedly texted teammates informing them of his plan to retire. It's also being widely reported that Favre will issue a statement later today. ... Meanwhile, Childress told reporters he does not know if the ankle is a stumbling block and that he still wouldn't be surprised one way or the other on what Favre does. The coach added that he isn't pressing Favre for a decision. ... Stay tuned.
