The Ravens traded Beck, their fourth-string QB, to the Redskins for cornerback Doug Dutch, who was on the Redskins' practice squad last season.

Per the Sun, the trade of Beck doesn't mean Troy Smith is guaranteed a spot on the team. There is still a chance that the Ravens will only keep two quarterbacks (Joe Flacco and Marc Bulger). Beck became expendable when the Ravens signed Bulger after offseason camps. He was the No. 3 quarterback for the Ravens all last season and didn't appear in a regular-season game. The Redskins currently have Rex Grossman on board to serve as Donovan McNabb's backup with Colt Brennan and Richard Bartel also on the roster.
