According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, HC Josh McDaniels declared Orton -- not Brady Quinn, not Tim Tebow -- as Denver's starting QB. “He is the starter, no doubt,” McDaniels said.

Hardly shocking news. ... Indeed, as Colorado Springs Gazette staffer Frank Schwab advised his Twitter followers, "I don't know how many times McD has said Orton is the starter. Someone might beat him out, but there's zero controversy right now. None. ..." And unless somebody makes massive strides between now and September, Orton will be the unquestioned Week 1 starter, too.
