Mathews will clearly get every opportunity to be the primary ball carrier. But there are issues. ... According to his NFL.com scouting report, the 6-0, 218-pounder has good size, runs hard and shows a good burst through the hole. Nobody will argue his talent level, but it's worth noting that Mathews had injuries every year in WAC.
