The Facts:
Now that the Broncos have acquired Brady Quinn via a trade from the Cleveland Browns, incumbent starter Orton welcomes any competition from the newcomer. "I told (HC Josh McDaniels) I've never backed down from competition so it won't really change my mindset going into the season at all," Orton said.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
It should be noted that Orton has been declared the starter by McDaniels, and that doesn't figure to change. ... Meanwhile, as Profootballtalk.com notes, Orton is a restricted free agent and hasn't signed his one-year, $2.261 million tender offer. But he's participating in the Broncos' offseason program without a contract because he thinks as the team's leader, he needs to be there. Heading into his second season as the starter, Orton is looking for a more explosive offense with Eddie Royal getting more involved. And he's expecting more out of himself from an intangible standpoint. "I think I can take my leadership to a whole new level," Orton said.
