Following up on a previous item. ... Turner is participating in the team’s voluntary conditioning program after missing five games last season with an ankle sprain and is apparently close to 100 percent. Turner is still the workhorse in the backfield, but HC Mike Smith has said he doesn’t want to wear him out and will monitor his carries closely.

Turner will share carries with RBs Jerious Norwood and Jason Snelling again in 2010. Norwood and Snelling were both tendered as restricted free agents and are expected to sign those tenders. While Norwood has durability concerns of his own, Snelling, who had 10 carries or more in seven games last season, could be more involved to take some of the burden off Turner.
