Favre is aware that Donovan McNabb would potentially be an ideal replacement for him as Minnesota's starting QB if Favre decides not to return in 2010, according to a prominent Vikings source. However, Favre remains uncertain about his NFL future and the Vikings have not pressured him to make a decision even as rumors of an eventual McNabb trade from the Eagles increase, according to the source.

Because Ed Werder is the reporter of record here, it's not a reach to believe the source is Favre himself and this is his way of letting the Vikings know the McNabb rumors won't rush his decision. ... For those who haven't been following along, Vikings HC Brad Childress was McNabb's QBs coach and OC in Philadelphia before coming to Minnesota. Meanwhile, we'll go ahead and note that all indications are Favre will return in 2010 and McNabb will play elsewhere (and most likely not in Philadelphia).
