Following up on a previous item. ... Derek Anderson, who signed with the Cardinals earlier today, said it was “understood” he was coming in as the No. 2 quarterback but that he would compete, that he will “push Matt [Leinart].”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
HC Ken Whisenhunt, who recently told reporters that Leinart won't be handed the starting job until he "goes to three Pro Bowls" and the Super Bowl, backed off those comments a bit today. “Matt has earned the right to be ‘The Guy,'" the coach said. Unless Anderson turns out to be "The Guy. ..." Stay tuned. Leinart is certainly the favorite to be Arizona's Week 1 starter but he's by no means a lock.
