The Lions announced they hired Danny Crossman as their special teams coordinator. Meanwhile, QB coach Jeff Horton is leaving the team to become offensive coordinator at the University of Minnesota.

Crossman replaces Stan Kwan, who was fired earlier this month after 10 years with the organization. Crossman was fired by the Panthers last week. Crossman spent the past seven seasons with the Panthers, including the previous five as special teams coordinator. ... The Lions aren't expected to replace Horton. OC Scott Linehan worked closely with the quarterbacks last year and will assume both roles according to the News.
