A league source tells us that McAllister will be rejoining the Saints in time for Saturday's home playoff game against the Cardinals. McAllister was released by the Saints in the offseason, and he has since signed with no one.

He has a four-game suspension hanging over his head, but with the league suspending all suspensions pending resolution of the litigation filed by Vikings defensive tackles Pat and Kevin Williams, McAllister is free to sign with any team. Pierre Thomas has been practicing this week with a rib injury and it's hard to imagine McAllister being ready to make any serious on-field contribution without taking part in a single practice. As PFT's Mike Florio suggests, the more likely explanation is that the Saints are hoping to blow the roof off the Superdome on Saturday after slumping down the stretch. Adding McAllister will only add to the excitement that the fans will be feeling.
