According to Times reporter Sam Farmer, the Seahawks and Carroll are close to a deal, which is believed to be a five-year contract to become president and HC at $7 million a year.

Farmer reports that nothing has been signed, but it's very close. Los Angeles Daily News staffer Scott Worlf concurred, reporting Carroll did not officially inform USC he was leaving as of Friday afternoon but sources within the university said he accepted the offered pending final contract details -- and perhaps the Seahawks finding a minority candidate willing to interview even though the job is Carroll's. ...
