Owner Bob McNair confirmed Sunday night that the team will pick up Schaub's $10 million option next season. That option triggers the next three years on Schaub's contract. "He's our quarterback, and the team has confidence in him. He's shown great courage," McNair said.

Schaub finished with 4,770 yards, 29 TDs, and 15 INTs in a very productive regular season. And as PFT's Greg Rosenthal notes, he also proved he could play an entire season without missing a game -- while playing hurt at times -- and improved his fourth quarter play during the season. ... Also worth noting: McNair also confirmed that Gary Kubiak will return as coach.
