According to Cincinnati Enquirer staffer Joe Reedy, the Bengls have officially announced the signing of Johnson and the release of DT Orien Harris.

With Cedric Benson hampered by a sore abductor muscle that has made him iffy for Sunday’s game in Oakland and maybe beyond and reportedly Johnson looking impressive in a workout Monday, the Bengals appear to be opting to bring the 6-1, 230-pound former two-time Pro Bowler into the mix as insurance and not a threat to Benson’s No. 1 status. HC Marvin Lewis has suggested Johnson will likely be inactive this week -- but that might depend on Benson.
