The Facts:
Edwards was arraigned today in Cleveland Municipal Court on a misdemeanor assault charge. He pleaded not guilty, waived his right to a speedy trial and was scheduled for a hearing Dec. 12 before Judge Michelle Earley.

Edwards, 26, is accused of punching a party promoter in the face on Oct. 5. Edwards was traded to the New York Jets several days after the incident. The maximum sentence for the first-degree misdemeanor is six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
