The Facts:
Fifteen days ago, Owens injured his toe during limited work at the Hall of Fame game. Owen returned to practice last Monday. Though HC Dick Jauron refused to call it a setback, T.O. had a setback. A week later, Owens still isn't practicing.

"He says it feels a lot better," Jauron said of Owens Monday in comments circulated by the team. "We won't bring him back onto the field though until we feel like it's all the way back to where it was. It doesn't make any sense for us to do that. So it's critical that he does get back as soon as he can to get the timing and get his reps in and get his work done. ..." As PFT's Mike Florio notes, Owens' extended absence has tempered some of the enthusiasm surrounding the Bills, but that will all be forgotten if he's in the starting lineup for Week 1 -- and if he's able to stay there.
