Marshall has asked to be traded, but said this week he plans to report to training camp on time. Still, it's interesting to hear what Lynch, who was Marshall's teammate in Denver during the 2006 and '07 seasons. Although he compares Marshall's on-field abilities to those of Terrell Owens, Lynch believes off-field issues are a concern. "I believe in first and second chances," Lynch said. "But when you're talking about 13 or 14. ... I think at a certain point you've got to say this guy's got some issues that he's got to work out before you can trust him. ..." Marshall, who has one season remaining on his current contract, has been arrested four times -- including once for domestic abuse -- since March 2006. He has been penalized with one suspension.
