For those of you who think that an Edwards-to-the- Giants trade is a fait accompli, better think again. According to two league sources familiar with the Giants' situation, there is no deal. Nor is anything imminent.

A source told Newsday's Bob Glauber that the Giants are unwilling to part with their first-round pick (29th) overall, as well as another high-round choice that Cleveland is expected to demand in any deal. At this point, Glauber's source added, Giants GM Jerry Reese is content to stand pat and not overpay for the former first-round pick.
