The Facts:
Chiefs guard Brian Waters and Gonzalez, the team's only Pro Bowlers last season, did not attend the team's first mini-camp session Saturday morning at Chiefs headquarters. Larry Johnson, who has often expressed his unhappiness in Kansas City, attended and worked with the first-team offense.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Star staffer Kent Babb noted, this weekend's mini-camp is technically voluntary. ... Waters, meanwhile, reportedly asked to be traded and released earlier in the offseason after a sour first impression with the new staff. Gonzalez hasn't said definitively that he wants to stay or go; he has occasionally skipped mini-camps in the past. New GM Scott Pioli made it clear that team needs will drive any roster moves and he won't let players' trade demands or other requests force his hand.
