Bruce has yet to inform the 49ers whether he plans to retire or return for a 16th NFL season. The club does not expect Bruce to attend the 49ers' first gathering of the offseason -- a mini-camp that runs throughout the coming week.

Bruce, 36, led the 49ers with 61 receptions for 835 yards and seven touchdowns. He is scheduled to earn $1.475 million this season. The 49ers signed free-agent WR Brandon Jones (Titans), and they expect split end Josh Morgan to emerge into a top-flight receiver in his second season.
