Agent Mark Bartelstein told the Sacramento Bee that Warner is genuine in his interest in playing elsewhere and not simply using the visit as a negotiating ploy to stay with the Cardinals. “I know there’s a lot of skepticism out there,” Bartelstein said. “I’ll say this — the people that know Kurt Warner will tell you he doesn’t get into deals with people unless he is serious. He doesn’t use other people.”

Bartelstein also talked to the Arizona Republic about Warner’s decision to test the market after talks with the Cardinals reached an impasse. “I don’t know that he has a choice. ... It’s all part of free agency, everybody is going to put their best foot forward, recruit him and make him feel wanted,” Bartelstein said. “Who would not answer the phone if someone calls?” Warner is scheduled to visit the San Francisco 49ers on Monday.
