Perhaps you've heard Washington's name tossed around in connection with the Bucs. Well, now we're hearing the rumors are very legitimate. The Bucs have a serious interest in the Steelers' No. 3 receiver who in 2008 finished with 40 receptions for 631 yards.

But if the Bucs intend to sign Washington, it seems they'll have competition. The Lions, Rams, Vikings and Jets also are believed to be preparing to pursue the speedy wideout. According to Times staffer Stephen Holder, Washington's camp is expecting a deal that includes a guaranteed sum in the neighborhood of $7-million to $8-million. Given the level of interest, his chances of cashing in appear to be good.
