Giants GM Jerry Reese was on WFAN this afternoon talking about a few things including free agency and said not to consider Ward a former-Giant just yet, even leaving a door open that an 11th-hour deal could take place before he hits free agency at 12:01. "Never say never with Derrick Ward," Reese said. "It’s not over. A lot of things can happen. You never know what will happen. Derrick Ward is not gone yet."

According to Newark Star-Ledger staffer Mike Garafolo, talk at the scouting combine was that Ward’s price tag had dropped to $2.5 million per season. .... Despite Reese's comments and Ward's apparently diminishing value, the chances of a return to the Giants seems slim.
